What I Actually Make as a Realtor After 26 Years in Southwest Florida
It is not what most people expect. And that is exactly the point. ✨
Someone asked me recently — at a dinner, casually, the way people do — "So what do you make as a Realtor?"
I smiled. Because the honest answer has nothing to do with what most people expect when they ask that question.
Here is what I actually make.
I Make Confident Buyers Out of People Who Thought They Were Not Ready
I cannot tell you how many times someone has sat across from me convinced they were not in a position to buy. Too many questions. Too much uncertainty. Too many people in their lives telling them to wait.
And then we sit down together. We talk through what they actually want, what they can actually do, and what the market actually looks like right now. And something shifts.
Confidence is not something buyers arrive with. It is something that gets built — through the right information, the right guidance, and an advisor who genuinely has their best interest at heart.
That is what I make in those first conversations. And it is one of my favorite things about this work.
I Make 26 Years of Market Knowledge Work for You From Day One
There is no shortcut for time in this business. You cannot manufacture the relationships, the instincts, the pattern recognition that comes from two and a half decades of showing homes, negotiating contracts, watching communities evolve, and serving clients through every kind of market.
When you work with me you are not just getting an agent. You are getting 26 years of knowing which communities are undervalued, which buildings have assessments coming, which neighborhoods are about to have their moment, and which properties are priced to sell versus priced to sit.
That knowledge does not appear in a Zillow listing. It lives in the relationships and the experience that only time in this market can build.
I Make Bonita Bay and Southwest Florida Feel Like Home Before You Ever Unpack a Box
Some of my most meaningful moments in this career happen after the closing. When a client calls me six months later and says they wake up every morning grateful they made the move. When someone who was nervous about relocating tells me they have already made lifelong friends in their new community. When a buyer who came to me skeptical about Southwest Florida cannot imagine living anywhere else.
That is not accidental. Part of my job is helping people fall in love with this place the way I did — the water, the lifestyle, the communities, the pace of life that reminds you what living is actually for.
Bonita Bay. Miromar Lakes. Palmira. The Colony. Naples. Each one has its own personality, its own rhythm, its own kind of magic. Knowing which one fits which client — that is the work I love most.
I Make Connections That Last Decades
I have people who have been with me for 20 years. Clients who bought their first home with me and called me when it was time to sell. Clients who referred their children. Clients who became friends.
In this business, that kind of loyalty is the highest compliment there is. It tells me that the relationship meant something beyond the transaction. That they felt cared for. That they trusted me — not just with their real estate, but with one of the most significant decisions of their lives.
I make sure I earn that trust every single time.
I Make Sure Your Goals Are Always the Priority
Not the commission. Not the clock. Not my convenience.
Yours.
That sounds simple. But in practice it means answering calls on Saturday morning. It means telling a client the truth even when it is not what they want to hear. It means walking away from a deal that is not right for someone rather than pushing it through. It means putting the relationship ahead of the transaction — every single time.
After 26 years, I have learned that the agents who operate that way are the ones clients come back to. And the ones they send everyone they love.
So What Do I Make?
Confident buyers. Informed decisions. Seamless moves. Connections that last. Clients who become friends. A career built on trust, loyalty, and a genuine love for this extraordinary corner of Southwest Florida.
That is what I make. And I would not trade it for anything. 🤍
